Shilpa Shetty Shares Her Style Mantra- Simply Classy

Simply Classy Shilpa

She is a regarded as Bollywood’s yummy mummy but she also has a diva’s demeanour in her. Shilpa Shetty talks about her love for solitaires, trends to look out for and more.

Shilpa Shetty

1) It’s my style:

Style has different meaning for different people. I feel it is personal and innate. It has to be trendsetting and not a trend that is blindly followed.

 Bambini Fashion

Note ~~~ She has shown just how close an affinity to fusion-dressing she holds. She has come out donning fusion-sarees and dresses often enough.

2) Comfort clothes:

When I am at home, I slip into my t-shirt and track pants — anything that makes it easy to run around with my son (laughs).

3) Party on my mind:

I choose my clothes depending on what kind of an occasion it is. For parties, I generally prefer dresses or a formal top paired with well fitted black pants.

4) Killing it in style:

Among Bollywood actresses, Kangna Ranaut and Sonam Kapoor have a great fashion sense. As far as the men are concerned, Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan are the most well-dressed. In Hollywood, I like how Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Leonardo DiCaprio dress up.

5) Skin care:

One beauty advice that I religiously follow is to never use soap on my face. I use a gentle cleanser and a good sunscreen for glowing skin. I always apply a deep conditioner to my hair everytime I wash it.

6) ‘Rock’ing it:

I decide on my accessories once I have made up my mind about the clothes that I want to wear. It should match with my outfit. But I like to keep it simple. So, most of the time, you will see me only in my solitaires and finger ring.

7) Handbag essentials:
I always make sure to carry my phone, credit cards, a lipbalm and lipstick.

8) Styling tips:

Dress to please yourself, not the world. And choose occasion-appropriate clothes. I have made many fashion faux pas but my worst nightmare would be the zipper giving away just before you walk the red carpet! (laughs again)

9) Fashion forecast:

I am no clairvoyant but I feel fashion is constantly revived and reinvented. A lot of old styles are coming back. Cropped tops, high-waist skirts, palazzos and a simple white knotted shirt are some timeless trends.

Janhvi Kapoor's incredible wardrobe

A star in the making

Janhvi Kapoor is definitely the next big thing to look out for. She comes with a starry lineage that cannot be overlooked. Daughter of the iconic late actor, Sridevi, and film producer Boney Kapoor, the debutante also counts the likes of Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Arjun Kapoor as her closest kin. Safe to say, acting and style are probably ingrained in her DNA. Her impending Bollywood debut Dhadak opposite Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter has been produced by filmdom royalty and mentor extraordinaire, Karan Johar.

Up to 80% off on Home and Kitchen

A classic case of ‘celebrity’ in the age of social media, Kapoor was already a star in her own right, much before her first film has even hit the marquee. One look at her eponymous hashtag on Instagram, and it’s clear that Kapoor possesses the natural charm of one who has both nature and nurture on her side. It won’t be a far stretch to assume that this young lady is poised to wear the crown as easily as she already wears couture. We decode her style thus far.

An early debut

Kapoor is no stranger to camera flashes. The 21-year-old made her first red carpet appearance as early as 2011, accompanying her mother to a number of fashion shows and events. Her teen-friendly wardrobe was replete with bandage and strapless dresses, form-hugging minis and playsuits, which she used to colour-block with neon heels back then. From a teenager still finding her fashion footing to turning into a bona fide trendsetter today, she’s made all her major sartorial moves with the spotlight trained constantly on her.

A star is born

As a card-carrying member of the Insta-famous generation, topping best-dressed lists is already one of Kapoor’s headlining resume skills; though she also possesses the effortless, almost careless, nonchalance of someone who doesn’t take her wardrobe too seriously. It’s hard to place the actor’ style into any one category—she’s glamorous on some days and normcore on others, but always confident. She can dress down as easily as she can dress up, and can shine equally in a Temperley jumpsuit and an Anamika Khanna peplum corset.

Much like other millennial sartorialists her age, she loves sneakers and furry slides, normcore and Off-White, and Gucci tees and Kenzo sweatshirts, but she balances her coveted of-the-moment buys with classics from labels like Chanel, Goyard and Hermès.

Online Financial Services

As far as Kapoor’s off-duty looks go, you’ll either spot her in figure-flaunting workout gear or nondescript kurta palazzo sets. And just when you feel you’ve pinned down her style, she’ll stop traffic in a barely-there sequinned chain halter top or a Zimmermann ruffled dress. From white crop tops worn with Stella McCartney patchwork denim pants to Fiorucci cropped numbers with ripped jeans and sneakers or even fringed jumpers from Chloé, it’s clear that crop tops and denim bottoms are definite staples in the Kapoor’s wardrobe.

As for traditional wear, she seems to believe in the more-is-more philosophy. It’s unlikely that you will spot our cover girl at a festive occasion without her trademark ornate lehenga, often worn with a contemporary blouse and embellishments like feathers, fringes and ruffles. Though her track records shows that she’s a Manish Malhotra loyalist, she can be seen in Sabyasachi and Tarun Tahiliani every once in a while too.
